A liver is our second largest organ and the largest detoxification organ.

All food and toxins absorbed from the stomach, small intestine, and large intestine are collected along the blood vessels and enter the liver. The liver is the biggest detoxifying organ of our body that decrypts and sterilizes it and sends clean blood through the heart to the whole body.

The liver metabolizes fat and proteins and breaks fat. It synthesis and regulates cholesterol and keeps the thyroid function normal. It stores nutrients and iron in the liver, releases blood sugar when it is low, and stores it again when it has high blood sugar. It breaks down insulin hormone to prevent hypoglycemia and maintains normal blood sugar. In addition, it plays an important role in decomposing female hormones, converting ammonia toxin produced when meat is consumed into uric acid and discharging it as urine.

If the liver is exhausted, wounds do not heal well, you feel tired, weak, depressed and get angry easily. Also, it slows the fat metabolism, elevates cholesterol, and weakens the thyroid gland. It weakens the immune system and affects colds and infections and leads to chronic diseases such as insomnia, memory loss, premenstrual syndrome, hypoglycemia, diabetes, cancer, and arthritis.

To improve liver function, the level of glutathione should be high. Glutathione is one of the most powerful antioxidant and detoxifying agent. The more toxins it exposes, the more glutathione the body needs to use, and when it is exhausted, the cells die faster and become cancerous. Glutathione levels are low in people with diabetes, smoking cigarettes, arthritis, AIDS, cancer, autoimmune disease, autism, heart disease, chronic infections, liver disease and more.

To increase the glutathione levels in the liver, you should eat a lot of fibre-rich foods. These include cruciferous vegetables, avocado, walnuts, garlic, onion, cabbage, asparagus, and apple. The herb “Milk Thistle”is an excellent source of the antioxidant compound silymarin. Silymarin increases fat metabolism to prevent fatty deposits in the liver and promotes bile secretion, releasing acid toxins into the large intestine and helps to prevent glutathione depletion in the liver.

Colon toxins caused by constipation are the worst. The toxin enters the liver through the blood vessels and the liver has to decipher the toxin. To make the liver better, it is best to eliminate constipation and clean the colon.

You should avoid pesticides, alcohol, preservatives, antibiotics, caffeine, soft drinks, sugar, tap water, cosmetics containing chemicals, tobacco, etc. Alcohol is a big burden on the liver. People who drink alcohol often should consider taking silymarin to protect the liver.
